Artist Statement

A professor once said to me, "creativity is a part of life," and art has always been a part of my life. My career is based in the graphic design industry, with web design and photography being my recent interest. I am a visual person and I love working with imagery, typography and making projects tell a story while reflecting a goal. At the moment I don't think of myself as an artist , but more of a designer.

I have shifted my skills slightly from print, and added web design, still using the same ideas and concepts, just for a slightly different audience. I also enjoy photography, the art of capturing a story in one shot, or details of an object, or vibrance of an activity. Photography moves me away from staring into a monitor, but to observe the outside and find interesting shots from everyday life.

As I look back at my experience as a designer, it's been brief and I am always learning while using the basic foundation of design. What I love most about being a designer is creating something visually eye-catching from an idea or concept and translating to a finished piece for the viewer.
